I am using Apple OS 10.6.8 - Little Snitch 3.0.1 and Google Chrome and Firefox and Opera. I had some strange activity with browsers and also some advised that my modem/router may be compromised. The ISP has since checked the modem and changed its login details.
I keep getting what seem strange connection requests from Little Snitch. For example:
Port 53 (domain) of 2001:4860:4860::8888
I know 8.8.8.8 is google's DSN but the above seems strange as it is not the usual xxx.xxx.x.x format.
Also Any Process within the rules the following seem to be new:
Allow incoming connections from local networks (Process Owner System)
Allow incoming ICMP connections (Process Owner System)
Allow incoming UDP connections (Process Owner System)
Allow incoming connections from local networks
Allow incoming ICMP connections
Allow incoming UDP connections
Allow outgoing connections to local networks
Allow outgoing connections to port 443 (https) in domain icloud.com - ((I don't use icloud))
There are also processes I wonder if they are legitimate
nmblookup - port 137 (netbios-ns)
Zoom Udp Connections Little Snitch Free
ntpb Allow outgoing UDP connections to port 123 (ntp)ocspd Allow any outgoing connections
Is there a way to know what can and what shouldn't be deleted from the rules panel of Little Snitch?
While I understand some of the notifications that have a site name the ones with just an IP address are unknown; after the resent unusual happenings I am concerned with requests for connections are legitimate and which are not.
